So the big news today is that Saddam's half brother and some former judge were hanged in Iraq for their role in a 1982 killing of 148 people. A hanging is simple enough. You tie the rope around the persons neck and then you push them and the force should be enough to snap the person in question neck like a twig.
But as we know by now the Iraqi government much like our own beloved United States Government is filled with morons. Well not everyone...just the ones at the top. The Iraqi's wanted this hanging to go smoothly because well if you saw the unedited Saddam video you know the last one was anything but smooth. So all they wanted was this one to go smooth and the guy gets decapitated.
Maybe it's my sense of humor but I laughed my ass off when I saw that on the news. Nothing goes right for the Iraqi's. I mean Saddam's execution was practically a lynch mob for that chubby little bastard Al Sadr. Add to that things just keep getting worse and you can't help but think you maybe we should of left Saddam in charge. He knew how to keep people in check. Some people just aren't cut out for this democracy stuff. But hey it was a nice dream while it lasted.
On the other hand the neocons are chomping at the bits because it's more or less a given that they are going to get their do over with this war. There's reports that Bush has given the order and by April 2007 we will attack Iran. Now don't get me wrong. I personally believe that the Iranian leadership should be over thrown. But it's not OUR fucking duty to go to every damn country with a huge oil supply and "liberate" the people. Why we have to go to war with country's we feel like I'll never know. Iran doesn't pose a threat to me. Iraq sure as hell didn't pose one.
The big problem with attacking Iran is unlike Iraq they have an army that isn't filled with Gomer Pyles. Add to that they will seal off the gulf and attack every oil field in their range. But as I said the neocons want that to happen. They want us scared shitless like we were after 9/11. OH NOES THE IRANIANS CUT OFF THE OIL. GAS IS $5 A GALLON!!
Well maybe if we didn't suppress clean technology we wouldn't be in this situation. We honestly don't need all that oil, but don't tell that to the oil industry. So with war with Iran pretty much a given get ready for $100 a barrel oil and gasoline costing the other arm and leg.
I remember when this war on terror was you know a war on terror. Of course that was back when I was afraid of Bin Laden and thought every loud bang was the worst case possible. Now having smartened up all I can hope is I can reclaim the years of my life that I wasted cowering in fear. It's because of fearing what was to happen that I made some really bad choices in my life. All I can hope is I have the time to recover.
Hmm I got off track there. That happens with a five second attention span. So like I said, Iran will be the neocons do over. They think they can succeed there where they failed in Iraq. It's just a shame that so many more men and women will have to die just to suit these peoples needs.
