What did you think they were going to go all out and give it a funeral? After they suck out every last drop of sperm and save the necessary cells for cloning, the rest of Barbaro is going off the the dog food factory. If it makes any difference dogs don't know the difference between a regular horse and a Kentucky derby winner.
Now I'm not completely heartless. I'm just looking at this realistically. If it were any other horse, he would of been shot with in five minutes. Barbaro got eight more months then any other horse in his situation. But what pisses me off and many others is the fact that we're bogged down in a God forsaken war, we're about to attack Iran for some unknown reason and what's getting all the press? A fucking horse that broke it's leg.
I'm glad it's not suffering anymore, but this horse wasn't Man O War or Secretariate or even Sea Biscut.
He's in a better place now, He's at the big racetrack in the sky.
I just hope some Horse wins the Triple Crown this year so we can end all this crap and make a big deal out of it in 2025 or something.

So they finally put the horse down and ended it's suffering. Took them 8 months to do it but atleast the horse isn't in pain. I had been following it's story in the beginning but quit following it. I have never owned a horse but even from me watching documentaries and t.v. shows know that if a horse, especially a race horse, breaks it's leg it gets put down.
I did not however know about them making it into dog food. That is just gross. But it also shows how the food chain is rotated. LOL
