Some random thoughts for March 27th, 2007

Well I said I'd post more so here I am. I figured I'd give some random thoughts since I'm bored. In the end thats all these blogs are for. It's for the average Joe like me to give his opinion. It be nice if I got the hits of the BIG blogs or the ad revenue of them, but one thing at a time.

The first thing on my mind is the new version of A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free) by Megadeth. It features Lacuna Coil singer Christina Scabbia. According to Dave Mustaine he had gotten Lisa Maria Presley to do the song but at the last minute he gave this bullshit about Christina's reign in metal and the demographics. He claims he remade this song cause he wants to give it a shot at success since it was screwed over the last time. It's an amazing song. It always has been. But honestly as much as I like Lacuna Coil and Christina, Dave made a HUGE mistake not going with Lisa. I mean if he wants success, Lisa Marie Presley's name will command more attention then Christina. Personally I would have loved to of heard what Lisa could have done on the song. Hell I hope she does a cover of it in the future (royalties are royalties Dave).

Lisa Marie Presley

I bet Dave ended up not wanting to do it with Lisa cause she'd probably try to convert him to Scientology or something. Personally the new Megadeth album should be great. United Abominations it's called and it continues it's a statement of the current climate I would guess.

Moving along this whole justice department thing is heating up as Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' liaison with the White House Monica Gooding says if she's called shes taking the fifth. The Fifth amendment is a lovely thing here in America. Basically it means yeah you did something wrong but you have the right to not say what you did in court. It's funny though with the way the Bush Administration wants to rip apart the constitution it's always amusing when they go hide behind it. So being the political novice that I am, I can only assume this means one thing. She knows something BIG and The powers that be have probably told her if you speak we'll make your life a living hell. I missed out on the fun of Iran Contra when I was a kid, but now 20 years later we get that and Watergate wrapped up into one big package. Oh it's gonna be a fun spring and summer.

Of course all that hinges on whether or not Bush is stupid enough to attack Iran. Sean David Morton was on Coast to Coast earlier and he says they have something like 213 targets mapped out and its anywhere between April 7th and the 17th for when the bombing starts. I don't like Iran. I think it's deplorable what they do to their people. The Islamic rule of law is a joke as innocent girls are hung for being raped because the rule of law favors the man. I personally believe if we just funded the groups that want to do a revolution it would be easier and cheaper in the long run. While we're at it lets over throw Chavez to. Boy that guy really thinks he's the new Castro. All we need is 30 or 40 years of him pestering us. But the Iran thing looks to be heating up since they snatched those British Marines.

Honestly I hope cooler heads prevail, but there are those in power and elsewhere who have alot of money riding on bombing Iran so the fix is all ready in. Lets just hope those precision guided bombs don't stray and blow up a school or two. And while we're at it lets also hope we take out the Iranian missiles cause you know more then a few would be pointed right at our troops in Iraq who would be sitting ducks...but its not like that matters to Bush. Oh sure you can say you support the troops all you want. But saying "Well we're just gonna keep em there till the Iraqi's get their shit together" isn't gonna cut it.

The song Dear Mr. President by Pink came on http://www.endradio.com just now (cheap plug...GO LISTEN). They played that last night on the season finale of The L Word. Yes I watch the show. Sure there's great lesbian action but the show isn't to bad from a dramatic standpoint. Well anyway the ending with the song was pretty good. I won't ruin it if anyone is inclined to watch it, but it was very well done. Honestly I thought this season was a bit of a let down from last season as the addition of Cybil Sheppard and Marlee Matlin I think didn't really add much to the show other then "Here's some respected actresses who want to do some lesbian scenes". Of course I could be wrong on that front but never the less it was a pretty good season. Showtime easily blows away HBO in terms of original programs. Dexter is the best new show on television and The Tudors looks awesome. Apparently the first 2 episodes are on demand for free if you have the Showtime sampler so I'm gonna check them out.

One of the central stories this season on the L Word was Alice and Tasha and Tasha being in the military. Basically she almost gets outed but her superior officer decides to look the other way provided she don't be all open about it and bring it onto the base. Honestly I never could understand why gays aren't allowed in the military. By all accounts there are alot of gays in the military right now. I dont see what the big deal is about letting them be open. Is being gay mean your some how less patriotic and if the time comes you can't kill your enemy in hand to hand combat? Does being gay some how mean you can't fly a bomber and drop a 25,000 pound daisy cutter on a cave? It's a cop out and we all know it. All I know is if Bush plans on putting us into a another fucking war then he should let EVERYONE be able to serve. Of course there's gonna be a draft anyway so we'll all end up serving one way or another.

The draft is in the hopper kiddies. It's only a matter of time before it's on the floor and all those Dems who said "Oh we won't support it" will do a 180 and approve it faster then The Patriot act.

Basically it's like this. What right do we have to say that you can't do something just because of your lifestyle. If there are able bodied people who want to serve then why should we deny them that right. As it is fatasses like me are now getting health waivers and criminals are getting moral waviers to join. They all ready take people who are border line retarded so I would love to know why being Gay would some how disqualify someone for service. In the end it's not that hard to shoot a gun.

Well thats it for now I think. I'll have some more comments soon enough.

Just BRING It

Wow I've had this thing for almost two years and I'm only up to the 60th post on this thing. Well my output should be going up because today promises to be fun in the world of politics.

I write these blogs for reference in the future just to give a sense of what might have been going on. Well yesterday we got the political version of a challenge. President Bush in wrestling terms is working heel right now. He told the Democrats you will take my offer and like it because if you don't I'm gonna throw every procedure in the book at you. The Democrats responded by saying we'll see about that and tell Baby Huey Rove to be ready. What this is all coming down to is whether or not the white house ordered U.S. attorney's be fired for political reasons. Normally this isn't such a big deal because all US Attorney's are political appointees. But it's come out that one of the fired US Attorney's might have gotten a little to close to stumbling onto something involving Dick Cheney and The Dukester Randy 'Duke' Cunningham.

If your bored, you can read about it on wikipedia but do yourself a favor and google all the preticulars in the case to get a more objective and balanced look at the case. But when it comes down to it there is some evidence that Cheney paid $140,000 to this company for new computers and stuff and in turn this same company just happened to buy a yacht for $140,000 that the ceo let The Dukester use...so much so the named the boat The Dukester.

Alberto Gonzalez fired eight US Attorney's including the one who prosecuted The Duke. Bush is obviously now backing into a corner and for a guy who is as stubborn as he is we all should be very worried. We shall see later today (Wednesday March 21st, 2007) if the subpenoeas are issued for Rove and others and if Bush plays hardball and goes to war over this.

Oddly enough he's prepared to fight long and hard on this. Imagine if he had that same dedication towards that Bin Laden fellow or this Iraq thing.

A bit of an update

http://www.grokodile.com

I put the blog in some directory thing called Grokodile. It's a directory to find blogs by regions so if your looking for bloggers from New York City, you'll find me in there.

In other news, Alberto Gonzalez is being pressured to step down and he's like FU it's not happening. If there's one thing I admire still about The Bush administration it's the distain they have towards everyone. If these impeachment things get rolling we won't see a scene like Nixon where Bush steps down gracefully. The only way he's leaving the whitehouse is being escorted by U.S. Marshall's while in hand cuffs. But basically what happened is it came out the the FBI abused the Patriot act and Gonzalez and others wanted to clean house in the US Attorney's and replace them with people loyal to Bush (sort of a back up plan for just incase the Democrats get back into power and start snooping around).

Now I'm not gonna act like "OH HE SHOULD STEP DOWN CAUSE HE'S TRYING TO RID DA SYSTEM!!!". As it is our entire legal system is run by men and women who got their spots due to political appointments. Next time you vote look at the ballot for Judges. Ever wonder why they always run unopposed. Same thing goes for the U.S. Attorneys. Most of the time they are appointed due to politicking from local big wig's in a given party. Usually it doesn't matter since they do a little thing like prosecute, but what Gonzalez and others wanted were people who were basically loyal to Bush to the point where they wouldn't investigate him.

Well now that he's been found out that plan's out the window and all they have left is the hope that the party loyalists in Congress will keep in line and not push any investigations toward. Basically stall until Bush is out of office because once he's out he gets a pass. There's like a honor code with Presidents. Basically once your out any past crimes are forgiven. Its a nifty little system if you think about it.

So do I think Gonzalez will resign? Probably with in a month or so depending on how much more heat this story gets. I mean Rumsfield said he wasn't going anywhere and Bush said he wouldn't fire him but in the end Rummy ended up quiting and just in time to with this whole Walter Reed mess.

I think that's it for now. I just felt like typing something quick.

Make sure to listen to http://www.endradio.com

Goodbye America's Rose...

Well our long national nightmare is over. Three week's after her death the body is finally out of the fridge and it's en route to the Bahama's. I'm listening to Imus right now and he said it best. We have this huge miscarriage of justice at Walter Reed with the Military's treatment of wounded solders and what's the only thing the networks can cover?

Anna Nicole Smith's funeral.

Jesus God all mighty you can't even begin to explain that. It's sad Anna died an all, but good lord you would think we lost The Pope with the coverage they've been giving this. But I must admit I do want to see what the ol' girl looks like. Three weeks in the fridge and we're gonna see if modern preservation held up. Typically it can from what I understand, but as Imus said if she decomposes anymore she'll look like Nicole Ritchie.

In all of this I feel sorry for her baby. She'll never grow up knowing her mother but to think in 15 or 20 years this girl is going to make Britney and Lindsay look tame. And she'll have every right to be a wreck because if anything would drive a person to be a drunk it would be this. I just hope for her sake Howard K. Stern is not the father because that guy just lives up to the stereotype of the word Ambulance Chaser which is ironic considering he's only a lawyer in name only.

It's gonna be funny looking back at these blogs years from now. I can be like wow the world was going to hell but damn it at least Anna Nicole got buried.
